Independence Day
July 4 1776
Today all the American people celebrate the Independence Day,
It started when the great leader Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and ratified on July 4th by continental congress .
Thomas Paine's pamphlet ( common sense ) put words to the thoughts and feelings of many Americans, in highly emotional language, the English born American writer dismantled the whole idea of hereditary monarchy and advocated a complete separation from the motherland
He reminded his readers that ( virtue is not hereditary )
Above all, he declared ( we are not Englishmen ; we are Americans !
At the meeting of congress on June 7 , 1776 , Virginian Richard Henry Lee introduced a resolution calling for a public proclamation ( that these United States are , and of right ought to be , free and independent states )
That announcement ended up,
practically word for word , in the Declaration of Independence drafted by 32 year old planter statesman Thomas Jefferson .
His philosophy , Jefferson was applied as ( all men are created equal ) and among the rights all were born with were ( life , liberty , and the pursuit of happiness )
On July 4 the declaration was adopted by vote of Congress .
Broadside copies were sent to various corners of the country as well to London.
God bless America !!
Happy to live in this great country !!!
